The Ian Hesketh Memorial Duathlon is a non profitable event. We pride ourselves on donating to a different charity each year and invite them to come along. We also have generous prize giving and T-shirts are given away to all competitors and marshals and we make a donation to Rivington Primary School for kindly allowing this event to take place on their grounds. Finally, a donation is made to Horwich RMI Harriers.

Stroke Association are here to support people to rebuild their lives after a stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after a stroke.
We provide specialist support, fund critical research and campaign to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support to rebuild their lives.
Rebuilding lives after a stroke is a team effort. It takes the determination of stroke survivors and carers, the generosity of supporters and the dedication of the healthcare and research communities to get there.
THE CHARITY WE SUPPORTED IN 2021 WAS 'DEMENTIA UK'
Dementia UK provides specialist dementia support for families through our Admiral Nurse service.
When things get challenging or difficult for people with dementia and their families, Admiral Nurses work alongside them. They give the compassionate one-to-one support, guidance and practical solutions people need, and that can be hard to find elsewhere.
Admiral Nurses are continually trained, developed and supported by Dementia UK. Families that have their support have someone truly expert and caring by their side. They are a lifeline helping families to live more positively with dementia in the present, and to face the challenges of tomorrow with more confidence and less fear.
We believe that everyone who needs the support of a specialist dementia nurse should get one, and we’re working hard to increase the number of Admiral Nurses across the UK.

The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Gifts from the public make a huge difference to the care and treatment that The Christie is able to provide to patients and their families.
THE CHARITIES WE SUPPORTED IN 2018 WAS 'BOLTON DESTITUTE ANIMALS SHELTER' & ' SUNDAY STREET KITCHEN (BOLTON)
Bolton Destitute Animals Shelter takes in unwanted, lost and stray dogs and cats. We reunite those who are lost and find new homes for the others. We are a local charity
Mission - to reunite lost pets and to re-home as many unwanted dogs and cats as we can, and reduce the number of unwanted puppies and kittens by neutering the dogs and cats in our care.
Sunday Street Kitchen (Bolton) are a group of volunteers who run a street kitchen for the homeless & needy in Bolton every Sunday night 6-7 at Bolton town hall near coral bookmakers. See the Facebook page here.
THE CHARITY WE SUPPORTED IN 2017 IS 'WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR' IN CONNECTION WITH THE MEMORY OF SCARLETT WALKER WHO TRAGICALLY DIED IN FEBRUARY 2016.
‘When You Wish Upon A Star’ is a charity whose primary aim is to grant the Wishes of children with a life threatening or terminal illness. ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’ attempts to make their dream come true and provide happy and precious memories for the families of these special children. Time is not always on their side.
Please help us to carry on making magical memories; so that the children can say ‘When I Wished Upon A Star’ my dream really did come true!

Bolton Service Users Recovery Forum is a volunteer run group set up for people in recovery from addictions regardless of whether you're in or out of services. It provides a safe environment for indoor/outdoor activities for which we have a dedicated activities coordinator. These activities include indoor/outdoor kayaking indoor/outdoor climbing, orienteering, gorge walking, pool table, tennis, darts etc.
